Lukfook Group Named “QF Star Employer” under “Qualifications Framework” Scheme

(16 May 2018) —Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group has been named “QF Star Employer” under “Qualifications Framework” Scheme by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, in recognition of its active support and participation in the Scheme over the past years and the Group’s contributions in promoting manpower development. Furthermore, Mr. Ken Hui Pak-kee, Assistant Sales Manager of a Lukfook branch, has received the “Award Scheme for Learning Experiences” (Award Scheme) commendation for his outstanding performance in the industry.

Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Group said, “We value talent development and endeavour to provide employees with comprehensive training programmes and well-developed career paths. We also promote continuous learning to enhance employees’ professional standards, skillsets and their agility in reacting to changes. The Group has continued to encourage and support employees to join “Qualifications Framework” Scheme and to obtain qualifications of work experiences and competencies, so as to facilitate long-term development of the industry.”

The “Qualifications Framework” is an industry-recognized professional qualification launched by the Education Bureau. Its “Recognition of Prior Learning” (RPL) mechanism provides an alternative route for practitioners to obtain QF-recognised qualifications by recognising practitioners’ work experiences and skills acquired at the workplace and candidates who pass the assessments can receive certificates of recognition. So far, the Group has more than 300 staff members who have participated in the RPL assessment under the Scheme, and two training courses, namely “Certificate in Quality Customer Service and Jewellery Knowledge (QF Level 2)” and “Certificate in Advanced Jewellery Knowledge (QF Level 3)”, have been approved by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications.

The Bureau’s Award Scheme aims at engaging outstanding practitioners in learning activities to broaden their horizons and develop network with local and overseas industry partners. These awardees will serve as role models for their respective industries and help attract the younger generation to pursue career in these fields and promote the concept of "Multiple pathways; masters of each trade".
