Awarded in the “Oxfam Rice Event” for Eighth Consecutive Year

(21 July 2017) — Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (“Lukfook” / the “Group”) (Stock Code: 00590) is pleased to announce that the Group received the “Ordering Oxfam Rice (Organization Category)” Bronze Award in the “Oxfam Rice Event 2017”. The award recognizes the Group’s active participation in supporting “Oxfam Rice Event” to improve the living standards of smallholder farmers worldwide and empower them to lift themselves out of poverty.

Mr. Wong Wai Sheung, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Group, said: “We are delighted to have received the top-three honours in ‘Oxfam Rice Event’ for eight years in a row. The Group has been actively supporting various charity activities and encouraging employees to contribute to the community. By participating in ‘Oxfam Rice Event’, the Group helps to raise fund for Oxfam’s ‘Smallholder Farmers Development Fund’. “Oxfam Rice Event” is a major annual fundraising event of Oxfam Hong Kong. It calls for people to purchase Oxfam rice at HK$20 per packet and limited edition at HK$120 per packet, aiming to raise funds for the “Smallholder Farmers Development Fund”. Funds raised will be used to assist smallholder farmers to upgrade their skill sets, improve productivity, gain greater market access, as well as enhance their abilities to survive at disaster so that they can improve their livelihoods  and alleviate poverty in the long run.
